HOT SPRINGS -- The City of Hot Springs will hold a public participation meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 9 at the Transportation Depot, 100 Broadway Terrace, for residents to learn about the assessment and cleanup of properties within the City of Hot Springs that have significant environmental issues and to contribute their ideas and opinions regarding the community’s needs in this area. Interested individuals and groups are encouraged to attend. The depot is fully accessible with adjacent parking.
The City of Hot Springs is applying for two Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfield grants that, if awarded, would provide funding to assess and clean up properties with environmental issues so they can be redeveloped. Public participation will help increase understanding of current priorities and concerns; foster community-wide support and interest in the program; and ensure that the program meets the needs of area residents and businesses.
