The City of Hot Springs and Entergy Arkansas will host “Trash Bash 2015,” a family-friendly lakes cleanup event, on Saturday, October 3 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., including free lunch and admission to Garvan Woodland Gardens.
Families, groups and individuals can register at 8 a.m. at the following check stations for Lakes Catherine and Hamilton: Lake Catherine State Park, Carpenter Dam Park, Remmel Dam Park, Munro Shoe factory boat dock, Sunnybrook landing, Hill Wheatley Park, Sunset Cove, Andrew Hulsey Fish Hatchery. Another check station will be located on the Ouachita River at Whitewater Park in Malvern.
Bags will be provided, and gloves are recommended to remove trash out of lakes and roads. Registered volunteers will receive a prize drawing ticket for every bag of trash submitted to designated areas by 11 a.m. Participants who bring their tickets to Garvan Woodland Gardens will receive a free Trash Bash T-shirt, barbecue lunch and day admission to the Gardens, and will be eligible for an array of door prizes including a flat panel TV.
