The city’s Operation Clean Sweep program is now underway in the Park Avenue area from Holly to Bower streets. The three-week sweep, conducted by the Planning & Development Department’s Neighborhood Services Division, involves education, cleanup and enforcement. This week, two-person teams from the Neighborhood Services are distributing city services information packets and notices of violation door-to-door.
During the second week, the Sanitation Department’s CAPS (Clean, Attractive Property Service) trucks visit the neighborhood daily, collecting items placed curbside by residents at no additional charge. The city street sweeper will travel through the area, and rights of way will be trimmed as needed.
During the third week, Neighborhood Services inspectors follow up on the violation notices issued during the first week and address any remaining violations. The Police Department provides additional neighborhood patrols, targeting drug activity. Fire Department personnel addresses fire safety concerns identified during the sweep. Animal Services assists with any animal issues arising from door-to-door visits and inspections. The result is a visibly cleaner area and increased neighborhood pride.
