The annual Oaklawn Rotary Christmas Parade will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 8 in downtown Hot Springs. The parade will begin on Central Avenue at its intersection with Park and Whittington avenues, proceeding south on Central, turning left at Orange Street and ending at the Transportation Depot on Broadway Street. This year's parade theme is "Miracle on Central Avenue." Retired National Park Community College president Sally Carder will be the honorary parade marshal.
Whittington Avenue will close at 6 p.m. to through traffic, and Central Avenue will close at 6:20 p.m. Motorists are asked to remove parked cars on Central Avenue after 5:30 p.m. for better parade visibility. Parade attendees are asked to stay on the sidewalk and off the street for safety. Parade vendors are not allowed.
