Completed applications must be submitted and postmarked no later than December 19, 2014 for student travel to Hot Springs’ sister city, Hanamaki, Japan.
The Hot Springs National Park Sister City Foundation will sponsor a trip for Garland County students to travel to Hanamaki for approximately one week in June 2015. Five to ten students will be chosen to represent Hot Springs, homestay with Japanese families, and experience the education, history, culture and traditions of Hanamaki. The approximate cost of the trip is $3,000, plus the cost of a passport and incidental expenses. Selected students will be expected to help with Sister City programs and events, including a 5K race held during the spring of 2015.
