Tykes, Trikes & Trails, an event held to encourage use of the city’s trails and to promote fitness, will be held on Saturday, November 8 at Entergy Park, 530 Lakepark Drive. The event was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
Registration for the free event begins at 9 a.m., with activities beginning at 10 a.m. Families are encouraged to bring their children, from toddlers to teenagers, to learn trail riding skills. Ages 6-8 and ages 5 and under, along with their parents, can participate. Strollers, big wheels, tricycles, and bicycles with or without training wheels are welcome.
For ages 9 and up, riders will hone their mountain biking skills with an experienced mountain bike rider. Youth riders will be supervised on the trail and will complete at least one loop of the .75-mile Water Tower Loop Trail.
Safety helmets are required, and bike safety inspections will be available. Certificates will be awarded to all participants, along withT-shirts, water and snacks. The event is co-sponsored by Parkside Cycle, Hot Springs Bicycle Association, International Mountain Bicycling Association and the Hot Springs Parks & Trails Department.
