The public is invited to an opening reception featuring the works of Traditional Art Guild Artists Jan Briggs and Pat Langewis from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 20 in the terminal building at Hot Springs Memorial Field, 525 Airport Road. The collection will remain on display until mid-October.

Briggs is a local artist whose works span a wide range of subjects and mediums from people and trees, to watercolor and oils. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Henderson State University, and studied for several years under Thad Flenniken at National Park Community College. She often experiments with new techniques and materials to stretch the boundaries of her artistic abilities. Jan is a member of the Hot Springs Fine Art Center, Three Rivers Art Guild, Artist Workshop Gallery, and Mid-Southern Watercolorists.

Langewis is an accomplished and award-winning artist who works in watercolor, silk, acrylic and collage. She is a signature member of both the Missouri and Alabama Watercolor Societies. A member of the Hot Springs Fine Arts Center, and Artist Workshop Gallery, Langewis resides in Hot Springs Village but often travels and enjoys leading workshops on cruise ships.

TAG sponsors a new exhibit at the airport each month, and meets monthly at the Garland County Library from September through May. For membership information, contact President Doug Jones 501-915-0994 or traditionalartguild.com .
