HOT SPRINGS – With October and Halloween rapidly approaching, the Hot Springs Fire Department reminds those who are planning on opening a haunted house, haunted maze, scare house or similar facility within city limits must first obtain a permit prior to construction from the Permits and Inspections Division of the Hot Springs Planning & Development Department.
There have been significant changes to the way these types of facilities will be permitted to operate this year. Individuals or groups must contact the HSFD Fire Prevention Bureau by September 1 for information on such facilities. The Fire Department will hold an informative meeting at noon on Monday, September 8 in the meeting room at the Central Fire Station, 310 Broadway, concerning newly-adopted codes that must be met before opening these types of facilities. For more information, call 321-6972.
