Though progress on the new bridge crossing Sanderson Dam in the Northwoods Trail System has continued despite the pandemic affecting operations on all levels, the bridge will not be ready for the Fourth of July holiday weekend as was previously hoped.
The Haren Construction crew also worked through all the rains in May, but completion of the footing of the ramp section was hampered. The crew was approved to have their estimated completion date pushed to July 30.
Once construction is complete, there will be a final inspection of the 300-foot long, 10-foot wide bridge. Also preceding the bridge opening for the public will be connecting the bridge to the existing trails on the east side of the dam and to the gravel roads to the west, as well as fencing to be installed around the lower two dams.
