Registration for the March 16 COVID-19 vaccination clinic will continue from 8 a.m. until noon on Monday, March 15, in Hall A of the Hot Springs Convention Center, inside the back entrance off Church Street.
The drive-through COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday, March 16, will take place at the Garland County Fairgrounds for individuals who have registered and are included in Phase 1-B of Arkansas’ vaccine distribution plan.
The first registration opportunity on March 11 at the Convention Center only produced around 400 appointments, which is well short of the planned 1,500 doses to be available for the vaccination clinic. Hence, this second registration opportunity was established so that anyone who feels they are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine would be encouraged to pick up an appointment.
Those in Phase 1-B include the following:
- 65 years and older
- Education
- Police, fire and other first responders
- Corrections
- Food and agriculture
- Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Essential government
- Grocery store/meal delivery
- Public transit
- Houses of worship
- Manufacturing
- Private and personal care
