HOT SPRINGS -- 2014 Sister City Young Artists Showcase local winners were recently honored at the Fine Arts Center of Hot Springs during the April Gallery Walk. First place was awarded to Kate Goble of Fountain Lake High for her work Cat And Koi; second place, Maurice Bradford of Lakeside High for his work Two Worlds Apart, Fingertips Away; and third place, Mindy White of Fountain Lake Middle School for her work, Transforming Feather.
The top three entries from Hanamaki were submitted by Urara Kodashima of Hanamaki Higashi High, Nozomi Okabe of Hanamaki-Kita Junior High, and Yui Takahashi of Ishidoriya Junior High. All work submitted will be on display at the Fine Arts Center, 626 Central Avenue, throughout April. This year’s theme was “Connect globally, thrive locally.” The first place winners from both cities will be submitted to Sister Cities International for global competition.
