[ARCHIVED] Official HSPD Release: Homicide

hspd headerOn August 12, 2020, the Hot Springs Police Department received a report of a missing person, Christopher Lee Jennings (DOB: 06/29/00). The reporting person said Jennings had not been seen or heard from since July 28, 2020 and this was very unusual. HSPD Detectives started interviewing potential witnesses and following up on leads while continuing their investigation.

On August 14, 2020, Detectives were notified of a possible location for Jennings. Deputies with the Pope County Sheriff’s Department and Agents with the Arkansas State Police were contacted and located the body of a white male believed to be Jennings in Pope County. The body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and for formal identification.

On August 17, 2020, The Arkansas State Crime Lab notified Hot Springs Police Detectives, the body located in Pope County was positively identified as Christopher Jennings. The Hot Springs Police Department is investigating this case as a Homicide.
