A free pruning class is being offered by the City of Hot Springs’ two arborists – Allen Bates and Freddy Padilla – at 10 a.m. on March 12 at 324 Malvern Avenue.
Bates and Padilla will be pruning an overgrown Crepe Myrtle, and will use the opportunity to give hands-on instruction and best-practices not only to the City’s Forestry and Parks & Trails personnel, but also to anyone interested in the public.
“This is a great opportunity to learn how to properly prune a Crepe Myrtle so that it is aesthetically pleasing year round, rather than using the unhealthy heading back method that creates unsightly stubs,” said Bates, the City’s Urban Forester.
