HOT SPRINGS – The City of Hot Springs Animal Services will be increasing patrol efforts to enforce the City ordinance relating to dogs being leashed or fenced, as opposed to being allowed to run at large.
“Animal Services wants to encourage citizens to be courteous of others when exercising animals on the Hot Springs Creek Greenway and other public areas within the City of Hot Springs, remembering that City ordinance requires dogs be kept on a leash when walking and confined to a fenced area when left outside a residence,” said Animal Services Director Chris Lackey.
As stated in City Ordinance 10-1-11 (2): "It shall further be the duty of any owner or keeper of any dog to keep such dog under such control so as to: prevent such dog from running at large upon the streets, sidewalks, alleys, parks or public places of the City."
