HOT SPRINGS – The City of Hot Springs has been awarded $355,404 in fiscal year 2014 Community Development Block Grant funds by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. While HUD CDBG funding decreased nationwide by 1.57%, Hot Springs’ award was 4.4% higher than last year’s award of $340,318.
Despite the steady decline of congressional HUD appropriations over the last 11 years that Hot Springs has been a CDBG funding recipient, the city has received more than $4 million to date for a wide variety of community development projects.
Applications for eligible neighborhood revitalization, infrastructure, non-profit new affordable home building and economic development projects that meet HUD national objectives for the Community Development Block Grant Program are being accepted through April 4, 2014. Applications and informational materials are available online at http://cityhs.net or at the Planning & Development Department, 133 Convention Boulevard, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information, contact Michelle Sestili, CDBG Administrator, 276-7934 or msconsulting@outlook.com .
