[ARCHIVED] HSPD launches ‘Cool Down Hot Springs’ anti-violence campaign

Cool Down Hot Springs logoThe Hot Springs Police Department (HSPD) is launching a campaign against violence – “Cool Down Hot Springs” – to follow up on the Community Roundtable hosted by Police Chief Jason Stachey on August 7, 2019.

“As a part of the Community Roundtable discussion, we realized that many in our community may not realize all of the resources currently available for victims of violence or even for would-be violators,” said Stachey. “I promised at the end of our successful Roundtable meeting that we would continue moving toward actionable solutions to improve our community and reduce the chances of violent crimes occurring, and we are excited to launch ‘Cool Down Hot Springs’ as the next step forward.”

The campaign’s webpage at www.cityhs.net/Cool-Down-HS has more information in links to categories within the online Ouachita Regional Resource Guide, including contacts for services relating to abuse, counseling, criminal justice and legal services, hotlines and mental health.

Along with more awareness being needed for the resources available by local community organizations, the HSPD wants to be sure the public knows they can call the police at 501-321-6789 for any conflict or concern.

As the campaign progresses, social media posts on the police and city social outlets will continue to promote information about conflict resolution and available resources. Visit www.cityhs.net/HSonline to find and follow the police and city social media outlets to stay up-to-date on the “Cool Down Hot Springs” campaign. Call the police at 501-321-6789 for more information.
