The City of Hot Springs hereby notifies the public of the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2019-2023 Consolidated Plan and 2019 Annual Action Plan. The primary purpose of the CDBG program is the development of sustainable communities for moderate to low income persons providing decent housing, suitable living environments and the expansion of economic opportunities.
The Consolidated Plan serves as a comprehensive planning document to discuss Hot Springs community development and housing needs, principally for persons of moderate to low income.
The Annual Action Plan is required by HUD for annual funding under the guidelines of a CDBG entitlement city. The Annual Action Plan identifies how the city plans to use $450,010 in federal grant funds during the 2019 fiscal year to meet the goals and objectives in the five-year Consolidated Plan.
Public Review and Comment: In accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) citizen participation requirements, a 30-day public comment period for the proposed 2019-2023 Consolidated and 2019 Annual Action Plan will begin on May 20, 2019 and expire on June 20, 2019. Public Meetings: Notice is also hereby given that the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) will hold public hearings to review and hear public comment on the Consolidated and Annual Action Plans on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at 1 p.m. and Thursday June 6, 2019 at 1 p.m. at City Hall, 133 Convention Blvd, Hot Springs 71901.
