An emergency siren that was part of the city’s siren warning system sounded in error at 8:03 this morning and was heard in the downtown area. One siren located at Hill Wheatley Plaza sounded in error when there was no emergency. Each of the 15 sirens in the city’s system are being thoroughly examined. The city apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The sirens will continue as normal with the weekly testing at noon today.
