Area residents will soon notice activity along Highway 7 North as the environmental team from Garver Engineers initiates preliminary engineering work for Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) Project # 061547. As part of this project, the City of Hot Springs must relocate the water and sewer mains which are buried along Highway 7 North. The Garver team will perform site visits on foot along the route while taking pictures and collecting other information pertaining to wetlands, endangered species and stormwater considerations. In order to perform these site visits, team members will need right-of-entry to the properties along the relocation route, which runs along Highway 7 North from Gorge Road to the Highway 5/7 junction. Therefore, City of Hot Springs vehicles or Garver vehicles may be observed along the route during the next several weeks. The vehicles will have the city logo or the Garver logo (pictured above).
The ARDOT project will widen the traffic lanes, add a middle turn lane and provide a sidewalk with curb and gutter along the entire route. A bike lane will be added in some areas. The public’s patience and cooperation will be appreciated during the project. Those with questions or concerns can contact Hot Springs Utilities at 501-321-6200 or Garver Engineers at 501-537-3236.
