Young artists are invited to come and paint outdoors during one of the many Arts and the Park activities going on from April 27 through May 6. Artists can participate in an outdoor painting with their own depiction of the theme, “Off the Beaten Path,” from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1 at Hollywood Park, 411 Hollywood Avenue. Local artist Jeri Hillis, along with other artists, will help students select, prepare and paint their scenes. Ages six and younger will work with watercolor markers on watercolor paper. Ages seven and older will work with acrylic paint on canvas board. All materials will be provided. Registration is requested to help ensure enough supplies will be available. Completed works will be on display in the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance (HSACA) tent at the Art Springs outdoor festival on May 5 and 6. Free snacks, book give-a-ways, and Clifford the Big Red Dog will also be on hand at the event. The Garland County Library Bookmobile will be on site with a selection of art and nature books that will be available for check-out. For more information visit, https://hotspringsarts.org/view-event/.
