Tykes, Trikes, and Trails will take place on Saturday, October 14 at Entergy Park, 530 Lakepark Drive. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and activities begin at 10 a.m. All are welcome to come walk or ride the paved trails during the first portion of the event.
Then, as part of the International Mountain Bicycling Association’s (IMBA) Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day, participants age 9 & up will ride the natural surface trails with experienced mountain bike riders. Riders will learn tips and tricks for maneuvering the trails from these experts with years of experience on trails across the country.
“We are happy to announce that Hot Springs Bicycle Police Officer Sam Spencer will join us again this year. He’ll bring his bike and ride both portions of the event with youth and adult participants,” said Jean Wallace, Hot Springs Parks & Trails Director. Officer Spencer enjoys riding the trails at Entergy Park and is happy to answer questions regarding his unique and interesting job as a bicycle officer.
Members of Hot Springs Intermediate School’s Student Council will assist with registration, bicycle and helmet checks, and handing out t-shirts and certificates.
Helmets are required, and all ages will be supervised according to skill level. Snacks and water will be provided. T-shirts and certificates will be awarded to all participants.
