HOT SPRINGS – Hot Springs Mayor Ruth Carney and City Directors Randy Fale, Pat McCabe, Karen Garcia, Becca Clark and Suzanne Davidson achieved or maintained their status as Certified Municipal Officials through the Arkansas Municipal League’s Voluntary Certified Continuing Education Program during their recent winter conference.
Numerous mayors, aldermen, city managers and directors representing municipalities from across the state completed 21 hours of study over the course of a year in subjects such as procedural rules, municipal land use, planning and zoning, budgeting, and methods of effective leadership. To maintain certification, graduates must complete six hours of continuing education classes each year.
The Arkansas Municipal League is a service and advocacy organization for the municipalities of Arkansas. The League has a voluntary membership comprised of all 500 cities and towns in the state, and was created in 1934 to assist cities with information and representation in state and national public affairs.
