City employees of the Hot Springs Street Division and Hot Springs Solid Waste Department teamed together earlier this week to remove 850 pounds of litter from major city streets in one and a half days’ time. Targeted areas included Central Avenue from Higdon Ferry Road to Park Avenue; Higdon Ferry Road, from Central Avenue at the racetrack to Central Avenue’s south end; and Temperance Hill Road, from Higdon Ferry Road to Central Avenue. The litter pickup is part of a renewed effort to beautify city corridors, leading to a major campaign to reduce litter in the community.
