HOT SPRINGS – Upon receipt of correspondence from the office of U.S. Congressman Bruce Westerman, the City of Hot Springs has learned that the Lake Ouachita Reallocation Study and draft agreement for water storage did not get signed by Jo-Ellen Darcy, U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, before her departure from office this week.
“Concurrent reviews of the reallocation study and draft agreement are still moving forward at the offices of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works; however, timing did not allow for the documents to complete the course of review,” said Deputy City Manager Bill Burrough, who is leading the effort to secure additional water supply for the City of Hot Springs. “We are confident that this process will continue to move forward.”
