At approximately 4:30 p.m. today, an aircraft attempting to land at Hot Springs Memorial Field sustained substantial damage due to the apparent collapse of its landing gear. All parties onboard were uninjured. The runway is currently closed to air traffic, and the damaged plane is being removed at this time. The situation is currently under control and under the direction of Airport Director Glen Barentine, who is currently at the scene.
