On October 3, a new, smaller-size Hot Springs Intracity Transit bus was put into operation on Route 1. It features images of three city employees who agreed to serve as the first to be featured on the city’s rolling billboard: Simuel Jones, Sanitation; Lana Kelly, Intracity Transit and Ken Freeman, Parks & Trails.
The city hopes that this inaugural project -- the first of three buses that, over time, are planned for the IT fleet -- will help remind residents and visitors of the people behind the prompt, professional, courteous service that city employees strive to deliver daily. The city also hopes the bus images will increase internal pride throughout the organization. With the tagline of “City Government at your Service,” the men and women working for the City of Hot Springs have the opportunity to change lives for the better every day.
The new bus, two feet smaller in length, is more gas and maintenance efficient, costing considerably less to purchase than the old “bread box” buses. For information, call 501-321-2020.
