The City of Hot Springs Parks and Trails Department is teaming up with the Unity Coalition of Garland County and the Hot Springs Stop the Violence Coalition to host a free showing of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas [PG] (2000), with the show starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Convention Center parking lot next to the Embassy Suites, 400 Convention Boulevard.
KUHS 102.5 FM will be providing the audio.
At 5:45 p.m., there will be a Best Dressed Character Costume Contest.
Hot Cocoa and cider will be provided by LakePointe Church, while free hot dogs and nachos will be provided by the Hot Springs School District TrojanEats Food Truck.
This live-action film is based on Dr. Seuss' beloved children's book and is directed by Ron Howard and starring Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen.
Film Summary: "The reclusive green Grinch decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into Whoville to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. However, the bitter grump finds a hitch in his plans when he encounters the endearing Cindy Lou Who."
