The disposal of brush, yard waste, leaves, tree trimmings and similar materials from all commercial haulers, landscapers, tree trimmers, and similar commercial operations is now permitted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during periods of time when the compost facility is in need of materials.
The Compost Facility may close when muddy conditions are present or when there is a surplus of yard and logwood waste allowed under the Operating Plan. To the extent possible, the facility manager will post notification on a weekly basis at the facility entrance as to whether commercial material will be allowed. Every attempt shall be made to provide a schedule to the public regarding the ability to accept commercial materials. However, the facility manager reserves the right to change the status of material acceptance without advance notice. Email notifications are available by registering your email address with attendant.
The city does not charge city residential users and customers of the Hot Springs Municipal Utilities for bringing yard and logwood waste to the facility. Proof of residence will require a valid Arkansas driver’s license or State ID with a name and address matching a copy of a recent Municipal Utilities wastewater billing statement.
Beginning June 1, 2017, a fee per load of grass clippings, brush, leaves, tree trimmings, and similar materials will be collected by the facility from commercial operators and non-Municipal Utilities wastewater customers based on the following schedule:
$10 - 2 to 4 cubic yard capacity pickup or 12 foot trailer (or less)
$20 - 5 to 10 cubic yard capacity truck / trailer
$25 - 12 to 20 cubic yard capacity truck / trailer $35 - 22 to 30 cubic yard capacity truck / trailer $50 - 32 to 50 cubic yard capacity truck / trailer
