Burrough re-elected to MAWA board and vice presidency

Deputy City Manager Bill Burrough was recently re-elected to a two-year term on the Board of Directors for the Mid-Arkansas Water Alliance. He was also re-elected to serve another one-year term as Vice President of MAWA. MAWA is a consortium of 27 public water utilities, associations and municipalities that have joined together in a regional initiative to secure the supplemental future water source needs for an eight-county region. Participating entities represent 750,000 consumers, which is more than a fourth of the state’s total population.

Burrough, who served for 10 years as the city’s sanitation director, has served as deputy city manager since 2012. He is past chair of the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management Board’s Recycling Advisory Committee, past president of the Arkansas chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America, and past president of Trash Bash, an annual community-wide lake cleanup event. He also serves on the Arkansas State Marketing Board for Recyclables through an appointment by Governor Asa Hutchinson.
